Upgradability

Upgradability is another incentive to build a computer. When a pre-built computer becomes outdated, the usual course of action is to buy an entirely new computer. However, computers usually become outdated due to a specific component as the others could still be performing up to speed. Therefore, it is better to replace the one component in question rather than the entire computer. This could prove difficult on some pre-builts as companies would prefer a customer spend the additional buying a new computer rather than components. With custom computers, one can simply replace the component in question with a more relevant one and thus saving users the hassle and money of getting a new computer entirely.
