Step 1 – Install the Power Supply

The first step to building a computer is installing the power supply. This is because the power supply is one of the few components that is not directly attached to the motherboard. Therefore, installing it first is very easy and will not become a hassle later when all of the rest of the components are to be installed onto the motherboard.

The power supply is generally located on the bottom corner of the PC case, indicated by the large rectangular gap in the back. It requires four screws to be screwed from each corner of the power supply onto the case. A rule of thumb is to turn each screw ½ after it is seated tightly in the screw hole.
